Hole Spotlight: Number 7 at Tiger’s Eye of Ocean Ridge Plantation

Among the many memorable challenges awaiting you at Tiger’s Eye Golf Links, one of the Legendary Big Cats Courses of Ocean Ridge Plantation, is Hole No. 7, a robust par 5 measuring 562 yards from the tips. If you’re afraid of biting off more than you can chew, it can be whittled down to a still-sizable 513 yards from the middle tees and 408 yards from the forward yellow markers.

This striking hole plays as a straightaway challenge, with a massive lake framing the entire right-hand side and an abundance of pine trees lining the left side. These obstacles put a premium on a precise tee shot, but if you hit a lengthy, straight drive it is possible to reach this wide, shallow green in two.

Along the way, you’ll need to be mindful of the many bunkers guarding the right side of the fairway, strategically placed near the landing areas of those golfers taking a conservative approach to the hole.

Regardless of the level of aggressiveness in your approach to playing this sleek beauty, danger will await you either way in the form of a green that is protected on 3 sides by wide sand bunkers, including one in the front and one behind the putting surface, requiring a precise approach from any distance.

If you have your A game in play for this hole, the reward is great for reaching the green safely.  You will encounter one of the new TifEagle putting surfaces installed in 2017.  These smooth and fast greens roll true. Get yourself there the conventional way and you have a solid shot at making birdie. But even leaving this hole with a par is a reward in itself, signifying a difficult hole well played.
